While the primary role of the Licking County Foundation is to grow endowed charitable assets to use on behalf of the entire community in perpetuity, sometimes there is a short-term need for funding to help an idea that when realized will be of lasting benefit to Licking County. Licking County Foundation can partner with donors by establishing a Project Fund to hold contributions raised for a specific purpose. Donations are then put to work through grants from LCF to cover the costs of the project, as long as the project has a duration of one to three years, a purpose that is clearly charitable in nature, and falls within LCF’s mission. Examples of Project Funds include:
- Don Edwards Park Improvement Fund – Upgrade and maintenance of baseball fields
- Friends of Sullivan Community Projects Fund – To promote awareness and foster appreciation of the Sullivan Building
- Horns Hill Park Improvement Fund – To upgrade downhill mountain bike trails
- Licking County CARES Act Nonprofit Relief Fund – To support nonprofits battling through economic challenges due to the pandemic and state mandates
- Licking County COVID-19 Relief Fund – To provide grant resources to community-based nonprofit organizations operating in Licking County that are directly supporting residents whose basic needs are going unmet due to COVID-19
- Lou and Gib Reese Ice Arena Expansion Fund – To expand the Lou and Gib Reese Ice Arena in Newark
- Northridge Athletic Boosters Facilities Improvement Fund – To renovate the athletic facilities of Northridge Local School District
- Pickleball Facilities Fund – To construct pickleball courts on Sharon Valley Road for the community to enjoy
