LCF #DonorProfile: Molly Ingold

Molly Ingold was born and raised in Upper Arlington. Newark, though, is the place she has chosen to call home. Since moving here to coach tennis, she has devoted most of her professional career to serving the greater Licking County community, taking on administrative positions with the Hospice of Central Ohio, Licking Memorial Hospital, and the City of Newark, to name a few. Now retired, she still finds time to serve on the boards of Behavioral Healthcare Partners, Kendal at Granville, and the Licking County Foundation.

It’s a way of life that Ingold finds both enjoyable and rewarding. “What an opportunity it is to serve your community,” she says. “And, I hope I’ve made some kind of impact on somebody, somewhere”.

To be sure, Ingold’s impact has been momentous. Recently, though, it has become even greater. With the help of the Licking County Foundation, she officially instated her Molly C. Ingold Community Charitable Fund this June. She plans to use her fund to benefit the organizations she holds most dear, including her church, the Midland Theatre, the United Way of Licking County, and the Newark Rotary. She also hopes to partner with the Foundation to fund emerging initiatives and opportunities in the area.

Why give even more to her community? Ingold feels it is important for her to do so. “Here’s the thing,” she says. “We can do what we’re charged with doing. We do our jobs. We go to work every morning. But, it’s what we do beyond that structure that gives back.”

Nowhere, says Ingold, is this exceptional effort more prevalent than here in Newark, Ohio. It’s no wonder she feels at home. “This is an awesome community. Such a giving community. We have so many people who want this community to succeed, and it just puts a smile on my face”.
