April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month. Many Licking County citizens generously volunteer their time, talent and treasure to improve our home.

Licking County Foundation is fortunate to have a team of passionate volunteers, among them is Siobhan Clovis. Siobhan is dedicated to our community, actively volunteering for several organizations. She dedicates her time and expertise to the foundation—serving on the Grant Review Committee since 2014. In addition, Siobhan has contributed generous gifts to LCF to support various causes, including the Sullivan Building Project.

After graduating law school at Case Western Reserve, she practiced law in Columbus for several years. Siobhan moved to Granville in 2004 and planted her roots. In 2005, Siobhan joined Reese Pyle Meyer in downtown Newark. It was through her work there that she became involved at the foundation.

“I love working with the committee. I find out so much about what is happening in Licking County, what the needs of the community are, and all of the wonderful projects—from arts and music, to helping children, to recreation, and to innovations in assisting those in need, just to name a few,” said Siobhan.

Siobhan is passionate about giving back to her adopted hometown. “My daughter is growing up here, I live and work here, friends and co-workers live and work here, and my clients live and work here. Opportunities to give back have strengthened my feelings of connection,” she said.

When asked what advice she had for those who want to volunteer in our community, Siobhan said this: “Reach out to a place or a group that you are interested in. For example, I am a lifelong bookworm and am having a wonderful time volunteering with the Granville Public Library. Don’t be afraid to try something new, or that might seem challenging. Volunteering with a project or charity that provides social assistance can be especially rewarding.”
