An Open Letter to Licking County Volunteers

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”  — Margaret Mead

April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month. Right now, our country and community are facing significant and unforeseen challenges as the result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In our own Licking County community, volunteers are stepping up more than ever – and in new ways. These volunteers are a critical part of helping our helpers – the local community organizations working hard to help many individuals and families get through every day with basic needs. The Licking County Foundation would like to take this opportunity to thank all volunteers who have donated and continue to donate their time, talent, and treasure to this community.

The Licking County Foundation has over 150 volunteers this year, and each and every one is vital to the success of our initiatives, from those who help determine our community and capital grants, to our Youth Philanthropy of Licking County project, and the many volunteers who assist with our scholarship program. Our volunteers come from every walk of life and generation. The Foundation works with 13 committees with members from across Licking County who provide great partnership and represent our community in carrying out our work. Licking County’s engaged and warm-hearted volunteers come together – if virtually, for now – to do so much and make our home the special place that it is.

Caring volunteers help make Licking County a caring community where everyone can lead happy, healthy and hopeful lives.
