Donors Lift Licking County Students – and the Community - with Generous Scholarships

Late summer is a favorite season at the Licking County Foundation. Scholarships are heading to colleges and universities across the country where Licking County students will settle into their new home away from home.

Our scholarship program dates back to 1968. This year, Licking County Foundation has offered 360 students vital scholarship assistance totaling more than $1 million. From agriculture to medicine, music to engineering, nursing to cosmetology, and everything in between, students will pursue diverse academic and career pathways with the help of our scholarship program. These scholarships affect not only graduating high school seniors, but gap year, continuing students and adult learners as well. And, as new donors step forward to establish a lasting legacy, new scholarships will be available in 2022.

The Licking County Foundation scholarship program is a partnership – in addition to our donors, we work with our local school superintendents, guidance counselors, and a dedicated team of nearly 75 volunteers who devote many hours to reviewing thousands of applications.  Together we do the work that links applicants with the resources that make it possible for them to pursue education and training leading to a career or further life goals.

Many of our grateful scholars express the dream to return to Licking County where they can continue to thrive and contribute back to the community. We thank our donors and our partners for the support that helps make all of this possible.
